Please note: EXCEPT for "Main" and "OCD" cable replacement all prices are for Labour, degreasers, and lubricants only. Any additional parts that need to be replaced as part of the service will incur an additional purchase cost - if you know an item will need replacing you are welcome to source them yourself; and if it would be removed from the bike as part of the service, it can be replaced without incurring additional labour costs.
Card payments may now be accepted dependant on being able to connect to the internet, although discounts are offered for prompt Cash, Cheque, and Bank Transfer.
 

BASIC :

Suggested every 3 to 6 months

MAIN :

Suggested every 6 to 12 months

OCD:

 Suggested on first purchase of a bike then every 1 to 2 years

 

Inspect and adjust
All work is carried out without dismantling the bike.

Normally takes about 1 hour.

£35 (onsite - requires suitable space to work)
£40 (with collect and return)

 

Remove, inspect, adjust and lubricate
Some dismantling of the bike involved - e.g. wheels, cranks etc. 

Normally takes 2 -3 hours.

£70 (includes collect and return since workshop facilities are required)

Also includes cost of brake and gear inner wires where needed

 

Remove, measure, inspect, adjust, replace and lubricate
The bike is non-destructively stripped in to it's component parts, each is then inspected for wear and replaced or re-lubricated as necessary before being reinstalled on the frame.

Normally takes 4+ hours.

£100 (includes collect and return since workshop facilities are required).

Also includes cost of brake and gear inner and outer cables where needed

 

Front Wheel

1. Tyre inspected for wear.
2. Wheel checked for trueness with mild truing as necessary.
3. Rim checked for excessive wear and wiped clean with alcohol.
4. Wheel spun to check for bearing wear.

1. Wheel removed from frame and tyre inspected for wear.
2. Wheel checked for trueness in wheel jig, with mild truing as necessary and where possible.
3. Rim checked for excessive wear and wiped clean with alcohol.
4. Bearings re-greased where possible and bearing wear adjustments made where appropriate.

1. Wheel removed from frame and tyre removed from rim - inspected for wear and damage.
2. Spoke tension measured around whole of wheel and recorded.
3. Wheel checked for trueness in wheel jig, with mild truing as necessary.
4. Rim checked for excessive wear and wiped clean with alcohol.
5. Wheel bearings stripped, inspected, re-greased and rebuilt.
6. Wheel spun to check for bearing wear and adjustments made where appropriate.

Front Brake

1. Brake pads inspected for wear.
2. Pad alignment with rim checked and adjusted.
3. Brake cable checked for fraying, and adjusted as appropriate.

1. Brake pads inspected for wear, and replaced where necessary. – cost of pads not included in price.
2. Pad alignment with rim checked and adjusted.
3. Inner brake cable replaced (and outer housing where it does not run under bar-tape).
4. Calliper centring checked and adjusted.

1. Calliper removed from frame, cleaned, pivots lubricated and re-installed in frame.
2. Brake pads inspected for wear, cleaned and refreshed or replaced where necessary.
3. Pad alignment with rim checked and adjusted.
4. Inner wire and OUTER casing replaced. Note for drop handle bar bikes the Outer is not replaced unless a re-grip is also arranged as part of the service.

5. Calliper centring checked and adjusted.

Front Forks

1. Forks inspected for damage.

2. Headset adjusted for steering wear.

1. Forks inspected for damage.

2. Headset bearings re-greased where possible and adjusted for wear.

1. Forks removed from frame, and inspected for damage.

2. Headset bearings removed, stripped, cleaned, lubricated, replaced and adjusted for wear.

3. Fork drop-outs checked for alignment.

Main Frame


Frame inspected for damage

Frame inspected for damage.

Frame wiped over with degreasant and inspected for damage.

Pedals and Bottom bracket

1. Pedal axles checked for play.

2. Bottom bracket checked for wear / play.

1. Pedal axles checked for play.

2. Cranks removed and bottom bracket spun checked for wear / play.

1. *Where possible*
Pedals removed from cranks, axles stripped, checked for wear, re-greased and rebuilt.

2. Bottom Bracket removed from frame checked for wear / play and bearings stripped and re-greased where possible.

Chain 

1. Chain wiped clean and checked for wear.
2. Chain drip lubricated in frame.

1. Chain cleaned in frame using Chain bath and checked for wear.
2. Chain drip lubricated in frame.

1. *Where possible* Chain removed from bike and cleaned in ultrasonic bath.
2. Chain wear measured and recorded.
3. Chain lubricated off bike where possible .

Gears

1. Front and rear derailleur cables checked for fraying.
2. Front derailleur checked for non-alignment and adjusted as necessary.
3. Rear derailleur checked for operation and adjusted as necessary.
4. Chain-rings and sprockets visually inspected for wear

1. Front and rear derailleur inner cables replaced (outer also replaced where it does not run under bar-tape).
2. Front derailleur checked for non-alignment and adjusted as necessary.
3. Rear derailleur checked for operation and adjusted as necessary. High and Low screws reset and adjusted
4. Rear derailleur hanger checked for non-alignment and adjusted where possible.

5. Chain-rings and sprockets visually inspected for wear

1. Front and rear derailleur inners and outers replaced. Note for drop handle bar bikes the outer run under the bar tape is not replaced unless a re-grip is also arranged as part of the service.
2. Front derailleur checked for non-alignment and adjusted as necessary.
3. Rear derailleur removed, cleaned and lubricated.
4. Rear derailleur hanger checked for non-alignment and adjusted where possible.
5. Rear derailleur checked for operation and adjusted as necessary. High and Low screws reset and adjusted.
6. Chain-rings and sprockets removed from bike, cleaned visually inspected for wear

Rear Wheel

Same service as front wheel

Same service as front wheel.

Where possible Freehub body removed and bearings spun to check for smoothness.

Same service as front wheel

Where possible Freehub body removed, and bearings cleaned checked and re-greased.

Rear Brake

Same service as front brake

    Please note:
Labour costs for replacing worn / new items are part of the service cost for Main and OCD services.

Wheel truing is only carried out where spoke / nipples are not siezed.

Drop out alignment check : £5 or free if part of Main/OCD service.

Sealed bearing replacement  Price dependant on complexity. Please feel free to discuss. - Often cost of bearings + Free labour if part of Main/OCD service
